Amethyst Aster

"Photography, as we all know, is not real at all. It is an illusion of reality with which we create our own private world."
~ Arnold Newman

Another photograph from this weekends hike using much the same approach. This flower, an Amethyst Aster, was a little harder to find as it tends to grow in open fields from my observations and areas where there is little canopy shadow to use as a dark background.

Once again the camera tonal curve was set to give me the highest contrast possible and the shot was lined up against a dark region of background. I had to do a little bit of post processing along the top but that’s detailed off to the left.

Have a lot to get done as it is only a few days until I take to the skies and find myself in Europe.
